Super Galaxy Arc
mrmcduts

That first part sounded like a super galaxy barf. What was that instrument?! I feel so confused and nausious! Plus, some of those instruments used are horribly,
horribly out of tune! They start out in tune, then quickly go flat. If they didn't go flat, it would've felt "Sonic in Space" epic. Plus, the arpeggio part sounded
awful when cut short. The notes didn't fit in with your long-dragged notes. If those arpeggio notes were held longer, it would've been more legendary.

7.2, nearly there, just needs a few more revisions

Game Boy Space Waltz

Once upon a time, there was an astronaut. Or was he a farmer? I can't tell! It's too generic! Honestly, you've nailed the retro music genre. However, I could
equally say I'm trying to feed my sheep on a farm. Or getting my first Pokemon from Professor Oak. Or watching chocobos dance. Great start, but not genre specific.

6.0, not quite the genre I was looking for.

WerewNC responds:

Sheep in space. Like the ones that jump over the moon and help you count to sleep at night. You need astronaut farmers to raise those, you know. I was thinkin' "Elite" and "2001: A Space Odyssey" when I decided to go with a fast waltz, but I'll admit I missed the mark on that one.

Thanks for taking the time to judge the competition.

Too fast! TOO FAST. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAA. If this was in a space game, we'd all be dead in like 10 seconds. Seriously. We're
talking Guilty Gear running at 400% speed here. WTF. AHH. AHH. AHH. AHH. Ok, that aside, slow it down at least 20%, and then we'll talk.

6.9, #$()%*&@)$(*%&$%*&@$@#^$&#@^$@ing slow down

Ahhhhhhh the reverb!!!!!!! Where does one note start, and the other one finish? It almost has the right feeling of space, ALMOST. But that reverb is far too long!
I truthfully don't know what to say about this song. It's very grey in that it has some of those legendary space notes, but it feels like they're all DEAD! Yes,
DEAD. If you slowed this song down by say 20BPM, it'd totally be a funeral song! On the other hand, the drumline is perfect! Great potential, consider keeping within
this genre!

8.7, Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeveeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

F-Meister responds:

Thanks for the review. I used a factory preset for the main melody - the REVERB came with it. I'll keep that in mind the next time i use it :)

I thought I told you to retire! HAH. I wish I had a lot to say about this song but it's... boring! The tempo is much too fast for the theme of space. Why do all
of these songs all remind me of Double Dragon?! Only certain parts of the song should have that on-beat drumming. It feels so linear. Maybe it's because of that
faster-than-normal tempo??? If you had subbed the faster tempo with a really up-beat drumline, it'd feel more retro. This just feels slow and robotic. Sorry man!

6.4, WoooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOooooooooooOOOO OOOOooooooooo I hate that instrument!

I'm waiting for the song... come on... 1:45 THERE IT IS. Christ that opening dragged on. I mean, come on, it was half the song! It reminds me of my Most Annoying
Song Ever (Chronamut remembers that one). Honestly, your volume on the drums overpowers and drowns out the ENTIRE chorus. This feels more like the ending music to
Donkey Kong Country, am I right? The part where King K. Rool falls to the shipdeck, you get all those corny Kredits (yes, Kredits), and then he jumps back up and
fails miserably at pwning the chimps? Honestly, the song doesn't fit the bill. I like it independently, but I don't get the impression of space.

6.5, good song, wrong genre

Knoxius responds:

yeee =)

SpK*) - Shooting at High

Hmm, ever had one of those love-hate relationships with a song? Well, this is what I got out of Shooting at High.
I guess the one thing that drove me nuts about this mix is the timeframe it was aimed at. It feels like a cross between the gameboy and master system genre. The song gives more of a feeling of Double Dragon / Dragonball Z storyline feeling.
The nice thing is this song does perfectly loop, just how all the originals did. The seemless loop really brings back those never-ending level memories. Wait, I didn't want to remember those! >:(

7.3, doesn't give me a space feeling, more of a Raptor: Call Of The Shadows

Fucking catchy

Kudos!

Hyperbeat!

I'm too tired to keep up with it lol. I like it. Clean and fun!

daYoshifan responds:

Glad you like it :)
Thanks for your review ^^

Good, but please try next time to lower the peaks, it seems like it's pushing the spectrum.

FL keys works okay, but try and get some VSTs.

Music wise, I like it.

Lighta responds:

Um what do you mean by peaks?
None of the notes go over C6.

I don't have very good knowledge of FL. I don't actually know how to do the majority of things that it can do.

Thank you all for your support. I'm still working avidly on music so stay tuned for further tracks!
